The Annual Strawberry Festival is hosted and organized by the members of the Community Homecoming Corp. (CHC).  CHC is a not-for-profit organization that sponsors annual events for the Holland, Ohio and Springfield Township communities.  It is through the dedication and hard work of this organization and its members that make these events and donations possible year after year.

 

Festival Contributions

Strawberry Queen Pageant:  Each year all NW OH schools are asked to sponsor graduating high school seniors to participate in the Strawberry Festival Queen Pageant.  Each year the pageant winners are awarded scholarship funds to assist with their post-secondary education in the amounts of $1000, $750, and $500.

Annual Events

Festival Volunteer Appreciation Dinner: To show just how much we appreciate their help, dedication, and hard work CHC sponsors a dinner/dance party for all festival volunteers.  A fun evening, the party includes 50/50 raffles, door prizes, a DJ, & steak dinner.

 

Halloween Party: An annual event, the Halloween party is fun for all ages.  CHC provides candy bags, door prizes, doughnuts & cider, hay rides, costume contests, & a pumpkin carving contest for all Springfield Local Schools students.

 

Christmas Santa & Presents: Each Christmas, CHC chooses five needy families to sponsor.  Gifts & groceries are purchased for all family members;Springfield Twnshp. Fire Dept. provides a truck so Sants & his elves can deliver the gifts in time for Christmas.

 

Springfield Thunder Little League: donated funds to help defray the costs to travel & compete in the Little League World Series.  GOOD LUCK BOYS!
