Strawberry Queen Pageant

5:00 pm, Saturday, June 19, 2010

In order to qualify for the pageant, applicants must currently be a graduating H.S. Senior and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Only applicants sponsored by a school (i.e. Guidance counselor, teacher, principal) will be eligible to apply.

Judging will be based on business attire, poise, charm, & personality. The girls will be competing for prize baskets containing gift cards, prizes, & gifts from area businesses as well as scholarship funds. Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a check made payable to the winning contestant’s college of choice as follows: Queen ($1000), 1^st Runner Up ($750), & 2^nd Runner Up ($500). All contestants will receive a gift for their participation.

This year the Queen Pageant will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 @ 5:00pm. All contestants will need two (2) outfits for the pageant, business attire for the interview & a formal gown for the evening gown competition. We will provide a changing trailer for the contestants. There will not be a talent category.

Rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, June 15, 7:30 pm. Dress is casual, attendance is MANDATORY.

Prizes awarded:

2nd Runner-Up - Roses, Gift Basket, & $500 Scholarship

1st Runner-Up - Roses, Gift Basket, & 750 Scholarship

Strawberry Queen - Roses, Trophy, Sash, Crown, Gift Basket, & $1000 Scholarship

Contestants must arrive to the main stage for check-in NO LATER than 4:45 pm.

Late check-ins will not be accepted.

Each contestant will receive a gift for their participation.

Registration Deadline: May 14, 2010. Acceptance letters will be mailed out no later than May 21, 2010.

Queen Pageant Info: A rehearsal will be scheduled for all contestants, attendance is MANDATORY. If you fail to attend the rehearsal you will be disqualified from participation in the Pageant. It is the responsibility of all winners to provide the Pageant Directors, Cathi Lannen/Lori Kent with all pertinent college mailing & account information no later than Saturday, June 26, 2010, so that the scholarship funds can be mailed to their schools in a timely manner.

Parade Participation rules for Queen Pageant winners: The 2nd & 1st runners-up along with the Strawberry Queen MUST participate in the parade on Sunday, June 20, commencing at 11 am. The pageant director will provide the signs, convertibles, & drivers. You MAY NOT provide your own car. You must arrive & check-in for the parade line up on Clarion Ave. in Holland no later than 10:30 am. Please note that participation in the parade is mandatory.
